GRC opened the scoring when Josiah VanderWerf grounded out to bring home a run in the top of the first. The Eagles added to the lead in the third after LJ Chandler singled to left field and Tripp Snyder grounded out, each driving in a run to make it 3-0.
The Eagles broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring four runs. Chandler delivered another RBI single, two runs scored on an error, and Eli Setlock added an RBI on a fielder’s choice.
Jackson Brower was excellent on the mound, tossing a complete-game shutout. The right-hander allowed just three hits across five innings while striking out three and walking one. Brower kept Forest Hills Central off balance throughout the afternoon and stranded five runners on base.
Sam Krosschell and LJ Chandler each collected two hits for GRC. Chandler and Luke Mersman led the offense with two RBIs apiece, while Krosschell added two stolen bases and scored three runs. The Eagles finished with seven runs on five hits in the win.
