Offensively, the team played with confidence and poise, capitalizing on turnovers to create high-percentage shots. On the defensive end, energy and intensity fueled the fast start, giving the Eagles a commanding 20-3 lead after one quarter.
Grand River Prep responded in the second quarter, edging the Eagles 16-14, with a majority of their points coming from the free-throw line. However, Grand Rapids Christian maintained control, taking a 34-19 lead into halftime.
The Eagles reasserted their dominance in the third quarter, holding the Titans to just 8 points. A 22-point quarter extended the lead to 56-27 heading into the final quarter. Despite the Titans' effort in the fourth, the Eagles were simply too strong. Grand Rapids Christian stayed composed, executed well down the stretch, and secured a 72-38 victory to move on in the postseason.
It was a true team effort, with every player contributing to the scoring column. It's a testament to the depth and unselfishness play. From a coaching standpoint, this game was a great way to start the postseason playing with energy, discipline, and togetherness. The focus now shifts to Wednesday’s semifinal matchup, where we’ll look to build on this momentum and take another step forward.
