The Grand Rapids Christina Eagles faced another tough defeat Monday night, falling to the Northview Wildcats with a final score of 11-3. Despite the lopsided score, the game was characterized by strong defensive play from both teams, with the Eagles holding their ground throughout the match.

The Eagle defense, led by Macey VanderWal, Ashley Overway, Katelyn Raak, Cassidy Buck, and Rachel Waters, showcased resilience in limiting the Wildcats' scoring opportunities. Though possession time was not in the Eagles' favor, the defensive unit kept the game competitive and prevented any larger deficits.

Offensively, the Eagles found the back of the net in the second quarter when Esther Kissinger scored the team's first goal, igniting a spark for Grand Rapids Christian. In the final quarter, Piper Slagboom capped off the game with two goals.

Maddox Veldkamp’s effort was also noteworthy, as he contributed one assist and dominated in the ground game, gathering 7 groundballs. Her hustle and determination were a bright spot for the Eagles despite the outcome.

The Eagles will regroup and prepare for their next matchup against Portage Northern High School on April 14th.
