The Eagles came out in full force Saturday afternoon, defeating the Howell Highlanders 17-5. With a great re-defend on offense, especially when pressuring the goalie, the team had 9 caused turnovers from five different players: Piper Slagboom (2), Maddox Veldkamp (2), Nadia Bolkema (1), Hannah Kits (3), and Grace Kelder (1). 

 

Hannah Kits and Piper Slagboom led the way on offense, scoring five goals each. Maddox Veldkamp and Grace Kelder added two a piece, while Esther Kissinger, Ava Leder and Katelyn Raak each had one. A season-high six assists were awarded to four different players: Maddox Veldkamp and Rachel Waters each had two while Piper Slagboom and Hannah Kits each had one. 

 

Draw control was another crucial part of the game. Once again, Piper Slagboom had an excellent performance on the circle, with six draw controls. Maddox Veldkamp added four while Grace Kelder and Katelyn Raak each had one. Seven Eagles picked up ground balls, including Miriam Kuperus and Sadie DeYoung. 

 

The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, April 30 at 5:30pm against a competitive Traverse City Central. Head over to the stadium to cheer them on!
