The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles went head-to-head with the Grandville Bulldogs on Wednesday night and emerged victorious in a hard-fought 13-9 win. In a game packed with nonstop action and momentum shifts, the Eagles displayed grit, teamwork, and determination on both ends of the field.

The opening quarter saw a quick start from the Eagles' offense, with Grace Kelder and Piper Slagboom each finding the back of the net. However, the Bulldogs responded with three goals of their own, giving Grandville the edge early on.

The second quarter belonged to the Eagles. Maddox Veldkamp opened the scoring, followed by two goals from Hannah Kits and an impressive three more from Grace Kelder. The offensive surge gave the Eagles a solid 8-5 lead heading into halftime.

The momentum carried into the second half as Grace Kelder continued her dominant performance, scoring two more goals in the third quarter. In the final quarter, the Eagles refused to let up—Piper Slagboom added two more goals to her tally, while Hannah Kits capped off the night with her third goal.

Teamwork fueled the offensive success, with Chloe Pegman contributing two assists, Maddox Veldkamp dishing out three, and Grace Kelder adding one assist to her standout scoring performance.

Defensively, the Eagles held strong, limiting the Bulldogs to no more than three goals in any quarter. Katelyn Raak led the charge with two caused turnovers, giving the Eagles valuable extra possessions. The midfield unit—composed of Slagboom, Veldkamp, and Kelder—was dominant in draw controls, securing 17 and setting the tone for possession throughout the game.

With this win, the Eagles improve their record and continue to build momentum. They'll be back in action Friday night at 7 PM against DeWitt. Senior Night celebrations will take place before the opening draw—come out and support your Eagles!
