Eagles soar over Holland Christian for the first time in 7 years!

Eagles beat Holland Christian 95-90

In the biggest rivalry meet of the season the eagles come out on top! The Holland Christian team proved themselves to be disciplined and fast early on in the meet. However, the Eagles answered with a victory in the 200 IM from Ben Sytsma with a time of 1:59.34, and multiple scorers in the 200 Free. The divers for the Eagles also secured both 3rd and 4th place, gaining the Eagles multiple key points.

In the 50 free, Max O’Grady and Emmett Vance took 1st and 2nd, both with state cut times.  Ben Sytsma took the top time in the 100 Fly and Evan Nelson won in the 500 Free with a state cut time! The A and B 200 Free relays both secured major points finishing 1st and 3rd.  Gerrit Boer and Sawyer O’Grady tied, taking 2nd place in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.79. 

By the time of the last event, the 400 free relay, the Eagles were down by 1 point. In the last 4 minutes, the Eagles took 1st and 3rd place, securing a 5 point lead at the end to win the meet with times of 3:30.75 and 3:44.94. Great job Eagles!
