Boys Varsity Track Takes 2nd at the EGR Classic Invitational

It was a busy weekend of Eagle Track & Field!
On Friday night, a trio of Distance Runners journeyed to Shepherd Michigan to compete in an Elite 3200m Race. Running under the stadium lights, they did not disappoint, all running personal or season bests! Congrats Sean Ryan, Keegan Hoekstra, and Micah Small!
On Saturday, the Eagle took 2nd place in the cool but sunny East Grand Rapids Classic Invitational. This relay meet provided unique opportunities for the team by turning most events - even field events - into relays. Here are some highlights:
- Aaron Gholston (11.40), Isaiah Wozniak (11:75), and U'Maree Talley (11:84) went 1, 3, 4 in the 100m
- Simon Triezenberg won the 3200m in 9:55.62.
- Nasir Zimmerman finished 2nd in both the 110m (16.49) and 300m (41.57) hurdles
- Tony Phillips and Cam Morgan went 1st and 3rd in the Shot Put
- Zack Hartemink PR'd in the Pole Vault (12'6")
- 1st Place in the 4x100m - U'Maree, Isaiah, Nasir, Aaron
- 1st Place in the Sprint Medley - Brieon Walton, Kayden Buyck, Charlie King, Jacob Rodenhouse
- 1st Place in the Distance Medley - Micah Small, Ben Williams, Calvin Brinks, James Scholten-Holcomb.
The Eagles compete tomorrow at Houseman Field as they wrap up the regular season.
