Our GRC Girl’s Varsity Tennis Team concluded its regular season with a hard-fought match against a strong Forest Hills Central squad. While the final score didn’t fall in our favor, the Eagles battled through several closely contested matches—many of which extended into tiebreakers and decisive third sets.

Doubles pairs Anneka/Gwyn and Charlotte/Charline each rallied to win their second sets, forcing third-set showdowns and showcasing their resilience and competitive spirit. Though both teams ultimately fell in the third set, their perseverance was commendable. On the singles side, Henley, Avah, and Anwen delivered dominant performances, each securing victories in straight sets to bring the overall match score to a respectable 3-5.

The match also served as a special occasion to honor our senior, Kaitlyn Schmitt. On May 5th, Captains Avah, Emily, and Anna shared heartfelt words reflecting on Kaitlyn’s lasting impact over the past four years. Known for her fierce forehand and unwavering work ethic, Kaitlyn has been a cornerstone of the team both on and off the court. Her leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship have left a legacy at GRC. We are proud to announce that Kaitlyn will be continuing her tennis journey at Spring Arbor University. We wish her all the best in this exciting next chapter!

This week the Eagles will participate in the OK White Conference Tournament on Thursday and Friday. 7 out of 8 flights are seeded and we hope to make an impact in this tournament.
